Iceland: Around Route 1

As I write this, I am sat in a beautiful apartment in Reykjavík going through photographs from the past 8 days, and reflecting on the journey we just completed. We covered over 1000 miles, travelling through volcanic fields of lava rock and moss, past epic glaciers that are slowly shaping the landscape around them, and climbing over snow covered mountains on gravel tracks.

Whilst we were here we also experienced all kinds of weather that the Icelandic climate could throw at us. Through the south coast we experienced heavy showers, thick fog, and even the occasional bit of glorious sunshine, whilst in the north thick snow and flurries transformed the landscape into the winter wonderland that everyone pictures Iceland to be.

Over the next few months, I will be working on my next publication, showing our journey around Iceland and the incredible features of this country. With thousands of photographs to work through, I cannot say just yet when this will be done, but i'm working on it. Stay Posted.

Vlog Episode 4

Its episode 4, and its been a very busy couple of weeks. Please excuse the rather poor production this time aorund, I will certainly makeup for it in the next episode.

Vlog Episode 2

So episode 2 of my vlog is live, and I feel like if I keep doing these every couple of weeks, I will be able to keep it up and hopefully keep it entertaining. The last couple of weeks have been busy and exciting.

Papercrane Session: UP C DOWN C

Yesterday we spent another day in Bossingham, this time recording local riffers UP C DOWN C. In between takes of their tone heavy riffs, I got a few snaps of the band and setup.

Vlog Episode 1

I have always tried to make the most of my time, either by going to gigs, exploring interesting places, doing something creative, or just hanging out with friends. Recently however, I have found myself in a creative slump, and needed a kick up the backside.

So I decided to start a vlog. I don't exactly know how long I will keep it up, but every 2 weeks I am going to try and make a short video showing what exactly it is I get up to. I hope that by forcing myself to make a video every couple of weeks, I will try and do more interesting things with my time. Anyway, here is the first episode. Enjoy.

Ohhms Promo Shoot

A couple of months ago, I was asked to take some promo photos for local band OHHMS. Working in a very sort time scale, we experimented with a few different ideas. Luckily these guys were up for what was probably one of the strangest photoshoots they had ever taken part in.

Papercrane Session: GULFER

Papercrane Session: GULFER

In September this year, we were lucky enough to catch GULFER on their UK tour with Alaska. This 4 piece outfit from Montral had some spare time in the morning before their Canterbury show, so they popped in with us to film three live songs.

Through Papercrane Recordings, I have met some incredible artist and bands, and Im glad I can add these guys to the list. Check out the videos for 'Baseball', 'Doglife' and 'We're all done wrong' below.

A New Zealand Wedding

A New Zealand Wedding

On my last trip to New Zealand earlier this year, I was asked to photograph a family wedding. My cousin Natalie was getting married to her partner Daniel, and i had the honour of photographing the event. Being trusted with documenting someones special day is a huge task, but it was an incredible experience, and certainly gave me a new view on a different style of photography i had only briefly touched upon before.
